Aside from ensuring their emotional, spiritual and academic wellbeing, the shelter strives to ensure their physical needs continue to be met. The staff aim to meet the diverse requirements of the children nutritionally, and also ensure the upkeep of dormitories and basic amenities like toilets which would otherwise be considered luxury in this part of the world.

As our children grow spiritually and gain the intellectual means to survive through education, we also monitor their growth socially to improve their emotional quotient simultaneously. Having come from impoverished backgrounds, the children are stunted in how they regulate their emotions. Hence they require prayer in emotional maturity as much as in their academics.

Those studying at the Lantern School of Hope total 20 persons. There are 2 children studying in other public schools; 1 child is enrolled in our self-started Christian Kindergarten while 1 youth is studying in Nias University.
