Mission Trippers Bless Children of Tomorrow's Hope - July 2025 Issue

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord Jesus the Christ.

“For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with gratitude;” I Tim 4:4
26 children now reside in Tomorrow's Hope children's shelter in Nias, Indonesia

The school holidays are over and after a month, on the 21st July 2025, the new academic year has commenced.

We currently have 26 children at the Tomorrow’s Hope Children’s Home and we hope to receive more underprivileged children who need of a brighter future.

This is our 28th year in Nias and our main objectives have always been to give each child in the home a proper education, to educate and instill proper personal hygiene, to impart a life skill(s). By doing so, these children, who are believers, can grow spiritually in faith in Jesus.

Christmas party back in Dec 2024 with the founders, Michael Christian and wife Ibu Sintha, including the residential children's relatives, to bless the whole village
Alumni of Tomorrow's Hope came back to sing Christmas songs and feed the children at the orphanage.

Our annual Christmas celebration was on the 14th December 2024. Besides our usually packed program for the children, alumni, also joined us in the evening of celebration. They are married now and with families of their own, they presented songs of thanksgiving which also included the sharing of their testimonies of their stay at the home.

Setia has stayed with Tomorrow's Hope for 13 years and now gets to study nursing in Jakarta.

In July 2025, our senior girl, Setia graduated from Senior High School, and she has been awarded a scholarship to study nursing at a university in Jakarta. A dream come true for her and her elderly mother.

We are proud of her achievement, Setia, who without knowing a word of the Indonesian language, came to live with us in 2012 and her perseverance is an encouragement to all her juniors that there is hope for a better and brighter future.

“And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary.” Gal 6:9

Tomorrow’s Hope Children’s Home has always been blessed by friends who have faithfully been partnering with us to be a blessing to the lives of these underprivilege children.

Mission trippers from Jurong Christian Church go to Nias to conduct learning activities with the children at the orphanage.

After almost six years, on the 20th June 2025, the Children’s Home welcomed the members of the S.A.L.T care group from Singapore, who spent a week blessing the children with programs and fellowship.

The next day was the very much anticipated day at the beach.

My Mission Trip Reflections

By Khan Lian

Taking the kids out to the beach for a fun day out, together with mission trip goers from Singapore.

My cell group loves road trips to Malaysia and for this year’s trip, it was suggested to go on a mission trip to Nias instead.

Planning began in January 2025 and by His grace, we eventually had a team of 12 members.

Despite the many obstacles we had encountered at the very start of our preparations such as illnesses to some members and our travelling itinerary which was at one stage in jeopardy, we continued to pray and trust in the Lord.

Youths at Tomorrow's Hope, Nias repaint the building exterior with the help of Jurong Christian Church members.

We arrived in Nias on the 20th June 2025 and were warmly welcomed by all the children of Tomorrow’s Hope Children’s Home.

Our mission objective was to share the Good News of Jesus Christ to these children and that was done by the sharing of our personal testimonies of His divine grace and mercy. Our programs also included, to name a few, teaching craft works such as candle making, sewing, and painting the exterior of the multi purpose hall.

I was deeply impressed by the daily devotion of the children. As young as 5 years old, they are involved in the nightly worship service. I was ministered by the children’s devotion, their beautifully sung songs of praises and thanksgiving.

“Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” Matt 5:8 and “The harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few.” Matt 9:37
Singapore mission trip volunteers share their testimony in Niasan Indonesian to the children around a campfire.

I thank God for this opportunity to have a better perspective of missions, that is to know the children and understand the objective to the mission.

We pray and look forward to return to the Nias soon.

May the Lord continue to bless and watch over the children and staff of Tomorrow’s Hope.

We continue to thank our Lord Jesus Christ for your prayers and financial support, and your passion in loving and caring for the under-privileged children of Nias.

May our Lord Jesus Christ bless you richly in His divine grace.
