Myristica Fragrans
Mace is derived from the aril (membrane shell) of the nutmeg fruit. It has a similar aroma to the nutmeg and also has carminative properties, aiding in digestion and bloating. Diluted mace oil can be applied topically to the abdomen to relief wind, or to the skin to soothe aches and inflammation. Its expectorant properties can alleviate congestion, coughs, and respiratory discomfort.
