In collaboration with a local non-government organisation, Tomorrow's Hope, the Singapore Red Cross will be contributing some food items to them for distribution to children in some orphanages in Nias.

July 2006

 

Dr Yi-Chen Wang works with Tomorrow's Hope and Singapore Red Cross to compile GIS and GPS manuals and prepare basic spatial data for the local government in Nias, Indonesia to facilitate the use of geospatial technology in their reconstruction after the 2005 earthquake and tsunami.

On the 13th of February, Team NINE finally had the opportunity to meet Pastor Michael Christian. He is the director of Tomorrow's Hope Orphange at Nias. We had dinner with him and were given time to present our project to the Pastor to seek his views on our planned trip.
